An Appeal

Why are bears farmed for their bile?

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) holds that bear bile can cure many human ailments ranging from fevers to heart disease.

The methods employed in extracting the bile from the bears is a cause of major concern and needs to be remedied as soon as possible to end the suffering.

In a daily, excruciating procedure, bears‘ already open wounds are re-opened so more bile may be drawn from the gall bladder.

WSPA is involved with extensive projects that aim to completely eradicate bear farming in the long-term, and improve conditions for farmed bears in the short-term. It is through the donations of supporters that they are able to proceed with their campaign to end the suffering of bears at the hands of the bear bile industry.

For just £6 a month you, too, can help make this a reality.

Together, we can do more than feel sorry for these bears. Click to donate £6 a month to the WSPA
