Is there insurance to protect consumers?

No, TIQI is a service that provides payment security to its clients. All funds are protected as per our T&C’s

How long does it take to get a refund if the Job is cancelled?

7-10 working days is the maximum time it can take for the refunds to be credited back to your payment source, however, we try to be quicker.

What happens if there is a dispute on quality of work?

The consumer will rate the trader on the quality of the work. If the work isn’t up to the standard that the consumer agreed, then a percentage of the funds will be held until the work is completed to the agreed standard. If the standard is never met, an escalation process will be started to facilitate both parties’ views on the quality of work.

Is there a charge to using TIQI - What’s the fee? Are there any hidden fees?

1.9% for both parties

What types of jobs and industries does TIQI cover?

We cover all construction and building projects.

Does TIQI have an insurance cover for my property or work?

No. We do not offer insurance. Simply protect payment.

What if there are problems with the work/job after the work is complete?

Once the work has been rated by the builder this completes the agreement between the builder and consumer. This also completes the agreement with TIQI. If further problems arise after the work is complete, this should be taken up with the builder directly.

What happens if the tradesman runs away with the deposit?

This simply can’t be done. A deposit is only released to the builder once the builder has been rated by the consumer.

How does TIQI work?

TIQI is a secure, online payment system that allows you to pay for a construction project. TIQI is a third party application that manages the payment from the consumer until the agreed terms have been met by the trader. The money you initially send is protected by TIQI and allows you to apply for a refund for any work that has not met the agreed standard. Equally a trader knows they are getting paid, meaning they complete the work to the agreed standard. TIQI protects both consumers and tradespeople in a safe and secure way.

What happens if I am not happy with the work the tradesman carried out?

If you are unhappy with the work that has taken place or if work hasn’t started, you can start an escalation process with TIQI to help resolve this and get your money back as quickly as possible.

What should I do if a tradesperson asks me to pay a deposit in cash?

If you prefer to deal with paying cash and the risks associated with that, then TIQI isn’t the platform for you!

What should we do if a tradesperson goes over budget?

We recommend completing an additional quote to facilitate any additional fees required. This way, the whole job is protected under the TIQI umbrella

How quickly are the funds released once the Job is complete?

No, TIQI is a service that provides payment security to its clients. All funds are protected as per our T&C’s

How long does it take for the payment/funds to go into my account after the work is completed?

Payment can take up to 10 working days from the initial job acceptance and payment date. In most cases, this will take up to 72 hours to receive your fee.

What is the fee for using the TIQI trusted platform?

There are no hidden fees. The only fee is 1.9% on both the consumer and trader side. We do offer discount codes for free fees too!

Is there a minimum or maximum amount for a job?

£100 minimum, no maximum.

As a tradesman can I ask for more funds to be released for materials?

Split payments can only be achieved via separate quotes, and must be pre-agreed by the client.

How do ratings work?

Tradesmen are rated on 5 different metrics. Please see our T&C’s on this. Once the ratings are processed, they cannot be changed.

Do funds gradually get released as the project progresses?

Split payments can only be achieved via separate quotes, and must be pre-agreed by the client.

How do I reset my password for my TIQI account?

On the home screen, there is an option to reset password.

How do I review my tradesperson?

You review a tradesperson once a project is completed.
